I've tried everything to rid myself of acne. Please Help!?

I guess my acne is only ‘mild’, but nothing I do will make the pimples go away. They only show up around my chin, but occasionally I’ll get one on my forehead or cheek. I really only have constant pimples on my chin that do not go away. I am naturally pretty pale, so any marks are extremely noticeable. I have many (at least 5 on each side of my chin) little skin-colored bumps, and then there are a few skin-colored bumps that are a bit larger in the middle of my chin. I also have the remains of a huge cystic pimple that hasn’t gone away, and that originally appeared back in October. It was extremely painful to begin with, but now all that is left is an occasionally sore red circle. My chin breaks out regularly, usually one or two pimples at a time, but there is always a mark left, even though I usually don’t pop them. I’m 16 and recently moved to a pretty humid environment with hot sweaty summers and freezing winters, and since I moved from Arizona, where it’s extremely dry, I was thinking that maybe the humidity is getting to my skin. I’ve been here for about 8 months, and I would think my skin would’ve adjusted by now.
I’ve used everything these past 8 months, so I’ll try to list them all (sorry this is long, but I want to be as detailed as possible):
-Clean & Clear Continuous Acne Control Cleanser
-Clearasil Benzoyl Peroxide Spot Treatment
-Neutrogena Acne Cleansing Cloths (ones in the orange tub)
-Neutrogena Rapid Clear Pads and Gel Spot Treatment
-St. Ives Apricot Scrub
-Noxema (Original and scrub)
-Neutrogena Stress Control Cream Cleanser
-Noxema Blemish Pads (these worked well for me two years ago, but do nothing now)

Natural/At-Home Remedies I have used with no effect include aspirin, witch hazel (which was all I had to use in Arizona for soft, clean skin), yogurt, and alcohol.

I miss my beautiful, clear skin that has seemingly abandoned me since leaving AZ. I am currently using PanOxyl Wash in the morning (contains Benzoyl Peroxide), Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleanser Pads at night (these seem to help ‘brighten’ my skin and help with scars, so I will probably stick with these), and I moisturize with Clean & Clear Oil-Free Morning Burst. I have recently tried Bye Bye Blemish drying lotion, and this seems to help a small bit with visible whiteheads, but does nothing to other blemishes.
I’m on my step mother’s insurance, and she won’t let me see a dermatologist.
*Please don’t suggest ProActive, as it burns my skin and makes it red.*

I don’t know what to try anymore, since nothing really helps. Am I just going through that teenage pimple phase? I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions. I miss feeling pretty and secure with myself.

You should try Cetaphil, it’s recommended by Dermatologists and its a very popular, affordable product. You can find it everywhere, trust me, try it!!!

It sounds to me your skin is reacting to some products, and your over doing it and switching products all the time. Cetaphil has natural ingredients and is formulated for people with sensitive, dry/oily skin, and for acne. I have sensitive skin on my face, and when I started wearing makeup I was breaking out. I didn’t realise I needed to find makeup and beauty products for sensitive skin. I tried products like clearasil, clear and clear etc, but it made it even worse and didn’t work because they are full of nasty ingredients your skin doesn’t need.

Cetaphil is gentle and doesn’t take the natural oils of your skin away. Even celebrities use it, visit the Cetaphil site for more information. It’s a cheap product as well. If you want to speed up getting rid of spots faster, try clay masks or an oxy spot cream. Also, you can steam your face after you have washed it, so that you can get rid of blackheads etc, that cause pimples.

Try Cetaphil, it’s really worth it.

have enough sleep. avoid eating oily food. eat more fruits and vegetables. avoid using different kinds of products, it might irritate your face because of the chemicals. try to be organic and use eggs, oatmeal, honey, lemon etc. to your face.

dont wash it too much , it makes if worse. sometimes just leave it alone. to many products can make acne worse. just wash it with neutregena acne bar soap, ad put a thin layer of something with salisic acid on it. give your skin time to heal from all the products. plus drink tons of water, the maore water you drink the better your skin looks. seriously, give your skin a break, a rest, drink water, and eat fruit. plus if your stressed that can mak it worse too.

a odd tirck i used once that really helped was putting peptobismol as a mask on my face a few nights in a rown, google it. it really dried and cleared up my acne in less then a week.

oh yeah in school, keep you hands off your face. at your desk dont rest your chin on yur hands. your hands have all that school dirt on then and your basically pushing that in your pores when you touch your face.

I had same problem as you untill 2 or 3 months ago
I’ve had tried everythin to stop having acne on my skin
but it’s about 2 months that my skin is doing great
    you know what’s the secret?
not using even a touch of FOUNDATION on my skin
these product even the best brands of them are like enemies to your skin, and I used to wear them in case of coverin the spots and pores but now that I dont use them I dont have any new acne which needs to be coverd.

  6. Phoebe Says:

Use Oxy – it always works for me.

It comes in a tiny little bottle and it’s actually medicated spot cream for removing acne, etc.

  7. justwondering123 Says:

i understand how you feel completely.

    i have the same problem.

when i’m on my period i get a deep red bump on my nose somewhere.

they are huge pimples that grow underneath the skin.

they are disgusting, and i look like a clown for a week out of every month.

    try zapzyt.
you can get it at fred meyers (if you have one near you)
it drys up pimples really well.
and it’s only like 5 dollars i think, maybe 4.

    i hope this helped.

if your having skin issues…or if anyone ever has bad acne
I recommend 1000% to get a facial…i did it and its the best thing thats ever happened to my skin. I will admit that they are very expensive, as a matter of fact the only reason I got one is because I have connections so I got mine for free. Otherwise tho…I’ve never felt better about my skin and I’m going to get another this Tuesday..my skin is 100% clearer than it was before although I still have a ways to go..and I never have felt my skin on my face to be soft..but now it is soooooooo soft..amazingggggggggg …Get one if you have skin that needs to clear up!

OHH and the facialist explained to me that you can try and try and tryyyyy to get rid of acne using as many products as you want but if your pores are already just so clogged with dirt, then your skin is just nottttt going to clear up. Thats what she does..she removes the dirt from each of your pores individually after she puts some creams and potions on your face.

As for cover up options until your skin gets better……………! ………..

There is also a thick tinted pimple spot cover up made by Clearasil. Its called Clearasil Tinted Maximum Strength Acne Treatment Cream. It comes in a small tube. I would then put a light layer of concealer over that. Don’t go to overboard because then you will just get a big mountain on your face

    Good luck!!!!!!!

    Hello! As many others said:
    - drink loads of water
    - keep your hands off your face!!
    - don’t use too many products, because they dry out and irritate your skin. Use a mild acne soap in the morning, clear your face with an astringent containing salicylic acid (2-3%), then apply moisturizer. You can use foundation, I’d recommend Almay skin-clearing make-up. It is designed specifically for unclear skin. Throughout the day, leave your face alone, just let the skin heal on its own. Before going to bed, do the same thing as in the morning and apply some cream that works during the sleep.
    - Tea tree oil helps
    - Try eating the following for the breakfast: mix together organic oatmeal, walnuts, raisins, organic apple, lemon juice and milk. It’s really delicious and healthy.
-clay mask, yogurt mask and cucumber juice help a lot.

In the worst case, consider using a birth pill…

    Good luck!

    Hi

    First, get a…..
    -toner
    -acne face scrub
    -acne spot treatment
    -washcloth
    -an acne mask
    -get it all in neautrogena

    Step one
Take a washcloth and pour warm to hot water on it and put the washcloth on your face and leave it there for five minutes. You dothis because the warm water opens up the pores so the medication can get deep into your pores. Once you’ve left it on for five minutes, pat your face dry.

    Step two
Wet your face with warm water to keep the pores open and massage an acne scrub all over your face. Now rinse. There are little micro beads in the scrub that remove dead skin and the pimples

    Step 3
Use a toner and pour it on a cotton ball and rub it on your face. Let it dry. The toner has a salicylic acid that clears pimples and gets the wrinkles off.

    Step four
Get an oil free lotion and rub it on your face. Let the lotion dry. The salicilyc acid that you just applied can dry out your face and you need to keepbyoir face hydrated. So use an oil free moisturizer to keep it healthy.

    Step 5
Use an acne spot treatment to clear up your worst pimples. Beleive me the medication it uses really works.

-use a hydrating acne mask once or twice a week leave it on your face for ten minutes after applying.
-change your pillowcase every week. Oils from your hair and skin deep into your pillowcase while you sleep. Search for a pillow case that is 100% cotton. Cotton doesn’t irritate your skin and was it every week.
-put your hair up every night because the products you put in your hair can clog your pores every night and make your acne worse.
    -get plenty of sleep
-take lots of vitamins and minerals
    -eat healthy
    -exersize
-stop popping pimples. This can leave scars and even make acne worse.

    How pimples form
All the pores on your skin are actually teeny tiny hair follocules which produce oil to keep your skin naturally moisturized. But it can produce too much clogging your pores

  12. *ONLINE* Says:

No matter how many products you use it won’t make acne go away forever..maybe for a few days but acne will come back! I’ve always thought that acne had nothing to do with food but i was so WRONG! If you’re not eating right you’re gonna get acne. Acne IS trying to tell you that something is wrong with your body, do you poo everyday? when you poo your body gets rid of toxic stuff but if you hold the poo in for a few days your body becomes toxic and it appears on your face. Start changing your diet and eat more healthy food and you’ll notice that your acne isn’t as bad. Don’t eat surgary stuff such as candy because it makes acne worse.
Whenever i eat too much candy acne appears on my face the every next day, i also had a friend who LOVED eating chocolate and sweet stuff, she had clear skin until oneday she had a mass outbreak of pmples all over her face =(
